Dr. Mauricio Parra is Professor of Hispanic Studies. He teaches Latin American literature, culture and Film. He has taught all levels of language instruction using different methodologies such as Communicative Approach, Proficiency Oriented Approach, and Interactive Teaching Methodology.

He has made numerous presentations throughout the U.S., Latin America and Europe. A specialist in Gabriel Garcia Marquez, he has also written on a wide range of subjects, from Colonial text to Latin America’s modernity/postmodernity debates and his research has been published in journals such as La Torre, Orbis Tertius, Discourse etc. He is currently completing his book Beyond Good and Evil: Contemporary Colombian Narrative and the Logic of Displacement.
