Dr. Christina Isabelli is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Hispanic Studies where she teaches courses on topics such as Second Language Acquisition, History of the Spanish Language, Spanish Linguistics and Spanish in the United States. Dr. Isabelli’s latest published work appears in Foreign Language Annals and Hispanic Health Care International. She is a book and manuscript reviewer for The Modern Language Journal and Spanish in Context and has served on the Hispanic Families Work Group of McLean County, IL and the National Fulbright Screening Committee. Dr. Isabelli’s research interests relate to sociolinguistic issues regarding Hispanics in the US as well as second language acquisition in the study-abroad context, identifying processes of forming social networks abroad and how they function as contexts for language learning.
