Julie Prandi, Professor of German, who received her doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley, studied for two years at the Universität Göttingen and one year at the Universität Tübingen. She has published books on German drama and on Goethe’s world view, as well as articles on Felix Mendelssohn and Goethe, Mozart’s Zauberflöte, and Heine’s Buch der Lieder. Areas of interest include German drama, reflections of Enlightenment in German culture, and eighteenth century poetry.
