Christopher Callahan, Associate Professor of French and Spanish, is both a linguist and a medievalist. His teaching specialties include phonetics and translation, medieval lyric poetry, and cultural and art history of medieval Europe. His scholarship focuses on medieval literature as a performed genre, and as such combines philology, narratology and musicology.
