Teodora Amoloza, Ph.D.

Teodora (Teddy) O. Amoloza is a Professor of Sociology and the recipient of the 2000 Du Pont Award for Teaching Excellence. A demographer by training, Dr. Amoloza teaches the Environmental Studies course Population and the Environment (SOC 344) and has led several travel courses, including ones to the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Western Europe.  Working with the International Rice Research Institute in Los Banos, Laguna, Dr. Amoloza has conducted a series of studies of women in rice farming. In addition to her teaching and research, Dr. Amoloza served for ten years as Director of the International Studies Program at IWU. She is currently the Executive Director of ASIANetwork, a national consortium of over 160 liberal arts schools in North America that promotes the teaching of Asia at undergraduate institutions.
