Professor Hoffmann helps plant a tree during Campus Sustainability Week

There are a wealth of opportunities to learn more about environmental issues and get involved in environmental activism on the IWU campus and in the Bloomington-Normal community. The IWU Environmental Studies Program frequently sponsors lectures and presentations on a variety of topics; former guests include nature photographer Tom Ulrich, filmmaker John De Graaf, coal mining activist Austin Hall, and Sean Babington of the Alaska Coalition. In addition, it hosts annual events including the Environmental Studies Picnic, the Dumpster Dive and Campus Sustainability Week.

GREENetwork is IWU's committee on sustainability, open to faculty, staff, administrators and students.

Sierra Student Coalition is IWU's student-led environmental advocacy group.
