Jeanne Koehler, Ed.M

Jeanne Koehler is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Illinois in Curriculum, Aesthetics, and Teacher Education. She started her career as a high school English and Desktop Publishing teacher in districts located in Louisville, Kentucky; New Albany, Indiana; and Normal, Illinois.  She also spent several years in the corporate environment at State Farm where she focused on training and development.  While completing her Ph.D., Jeanne served as the online program coordinator for Human Resource Education Online at University of Illinois. Throughout her career, her passion has been helping others learn and persevere, and this drives her current research interests in:
  • The complexity of organizational change in varying contexts including: government, corporate, and educational.
  • Teacher identities in relation to innovation and change.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and its connection to social and educational change.

In partnership with the University of Illinois EnLiST (Entrepreneurial Leadership in Science Teaching and Learning) project, Jeanne is completing her dissertation studies.  The project is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). 

Jeanne has presented scholarly papers at the NSF Math Science Partnership Conference and at the International Congress of Qualitative Inquiry.  She is a member of American Education Research Association, Academy of Human Resource Development, Academy of Management, and American Society of Training and Development.
