Amy Jacobi obtained both her undergraduate ('80, '83) and graduate degrees ('85) in Education and Science Education from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State). She has taught in both the elementary and secondary levels in Iowa and Missouri. After teaching at Iowa State and the University of Northern Iowa, she joined the IWU Educational Studies faculty in August 1998. Her passion, environmental education, is integrated into her classes whenever possible. She is a state facilitator for Project WILD, Project Aquatic WILD, Project Learning Tree, and Project W.E.T., as part of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
She took over the position of Field Placement Coordinator in August 2000 which has allowed her to build strong relationships with the local school districts and their teachers and administrators. She also continues to teach education courses and supervise student teachers. Amy's husband works at State Farm and her two teenage daughters, Laura and Mary, are students at Normal West High School. They all reside in Hudson with three cats and a dog. |
