Mandated Reporter Requirements
Illinois Wesleyan University students completing clinical hours in the schools are mandated reporters. Therefore all students enrolled in Education 225, Music 132, or first techniques course must complete the on-line training course for Mandated Reporters concurrent with course enrollment.
The purpose of the online course is to help all Illinois Mandated Reporters understand their critical role in protecting children by recognizing and reporting child abuse.
Instructions
Submit the certificate of course completion and acknowledgement of status form to the Educational Studies Office, CLA 146, by 4 pm January 16th or send electronically to Kelly Lawton, klawton@iwu.edu.
Step 1: Complete the mandated reporter course.
- You will need to set up a new account for the mandated reporter training course.
- Select "Yes" to the question, "Do you work in Illinois?"
- List Illinois Wesleyan University in the Employer field.
- Which Mandated Reporter Category best fits your role? Answer - School/Other.
- Specify Clinical Placement.
- County of Employment - McLean County
Step 2: Read the acknowledgement of mandated reporter status form, sign, print and submit to the Educational Studies Office.
