Curriculum and Pedagogy in Language Arts
Examination of reading, writing, speaking, and listening as meaning-making processes in elementary and middle schools. The assessment of students' learning styles and literacy skills in making decisions about students' literacy needs. Attention to using and evaluating texts and curriculum materials. Reflection on the teaching and learning approaches that engage students and promote social justice.
Required field experience.
Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Teacher Education Program.
