Essay Guidelines: Your essay will be read by potential cooperating teachers and will serve as your first introduction; therefore, think of it as comparable to a job interview. Your responses should have a professional tone and provide the reader with a brief and honest self-assessment that speaks to your strengths and anticipated challenges. Acceptable essays address all three questions; have minimal errors in spelling, grammar, syntax and punctuation; are well organized and written coherently; convey ideas clearly and succinctly; and are written for a teacher audience. You are encouraged to consult with Writing Center tutors prior to submitting your essay. If you have questions please contact your Educational Studies advisor. |
