What do Economics majors do after they graduate?

Graduates of the Economics program at IWU pursue a variety of careers. About one-third of our students continue study at the graduate level, with the most popular programs being in business (MBA), Law (JD), and Economics (MA and Ph.D.). Of those students who pursue employment directly after graduation, many take positions as business analysts, in the financial services sector. Alumni/ae of the economics program include a Vice President of Finance with General Electric Corporation, a special attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, a financial analyst with Ford Motor Company, a partner at Deloitte & Touche, several university professors, bank examiners for the FDIC, many attorneys and a regional marketing director for Proctor & Gamble, to name a few. IWU's Career Center coordinates internships that give students the opportunity to try any of the different careers an IWU Economics major can choose from.

You can also get a sense of the possibilities by visiting the Alumni/ae site, and browsing through the reports from our alums.
