This year, the only Greek and Roman Studies major Erica Rudie (co-president of Eta Sigma Phi 2011-2012) will present about Hellenistic Egypt at the Annual Eta Sigma Phi initiation and banquet.
March Ides: A Homer-a-thon
Join Classics Club and Eta Sigma Phi in an epic reading of the Odyssey! Held at The Ames Library, Entry Level, from 2pm to 6am, this event invites all faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members to read a great epic aloud in whatever languages you wish! There will be food and drink, so come on by and watch this ancient myth come alive!
February Ides: Dr. Emmanuel Mayer
Classics Club and Eta Sigma Phi have invited Dr. Emmanuel Mayer of the University of Chicago to speak on the Roman Middle Class. This event will take place on February 9th, 2012, in Beckman Auditorium (the lower level of The Ames Library) at 4pm. It is free and open to the public, and as always, there will be refreshments.
January Ides: Dr. Antony Augoustakis
Classics Club and Eta Sigma Phi present Dr. Antony Augoustakis of UIUC to give a lecture on Women in Flavian Epic. His talk will occur on January 18th, in Beckman Auditorium (lower level of The Ames Library) at 4pm. This event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be provided.
