September 30: IWU Open House - 7:00pm to 8:00pm - Davidson Room
October 17: Deadline for applications from students and agencies
October 27 through 31: Student interviews held at IWU, student screenings held at State Farm
November 3 through 7: State Farm pre-employment testing
November 10 through 14: Candidate selections and offers extended to students and agencies
November 21: Deadline for acceptance
December 1 through 5: State Farm placements will be determined and students will be notified
May 4: Program start date
May 4 through 15: State Farm Training Program
May 6: First ARC Workshop (every Wednesday)
May 18: First week in the community
July 31: Program end date
* Students: you will not be able to take a May Term course if you are selected to participate in this program.
Based on a full-time work schedule (38:45 hours/week) at a 60/40 split between State Farm and a not-for-profit organization
Wednesday will always be a day in the community
Action Research Center workshops will be held on Wednesday evenings from 5:30pm to 7:00pm in the community
Current first-year students, sophomores and juniors are eligible
There is no minimum GPA requirement
All majors are welcome
Graduating seniors are not eligible
Students who have participated in the program in the past are not eligible
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. State Farm only provides sponsorship when there is a business need. Since the internship program serves as a foundation for full-time hiring, State Farm is not in a position to hire students who may require sponsorship in the future.
Free campus housing will be available for the summer of 2009.
Community Partnership Interns are compensated at $14.00/hour
