What is the Value:

These workshops are designed to enhance the value of the community-based experience and to enrich the student’s understanding of not-for-profit organizations. Students will learn skills and techniques from ARC staff and partners and learn from each other as they share the successes and challenges of their projects. Participants should consider themselves part of a unique IWU learning community.

Who Should Attend:

These workshops are being offered to any student involved in community-based work in the fall of 2008. Interns, volunteers, senior seminar students and others are all welcome.

Attendance:

Faculty may require attendance at these workshops as part of an intern’s learning contract. Otherwise, attendance is optional though advance registration is appreciated.

Cost:

There is no cost to participate in this program. This is an ARC-sponsored program.

How to enroll:

Please register by emailing Deborah Halperin, ARC Coordinator at dhalperi@iwu.edu. Please send the contact information for the student, the faculty advisor and a brief summary of the student’s community-based work.
