Setting up Outgoing E-mail with Mac OS X
This guide will help you to set up the following e-mail applications to securely send messages via Illinois Wesleyan mail servers from any location.
Thunderbird 2.0
Eudora 6.23
Apple Mail.app
There are a few easy steps to configuring Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0 to send outgoing e-mail through Illinois Wesleyan's servers:
From the Tools menu, select "Account Settings". The left pane of this window is a list of all e-mail accounts that have been set up in Thunderbird. Click on "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" which should be the last item in this list. If smtp.iwu.edu is not found in the list, you must click "Add". If smtp.iwu.edu is in the list, click "Edit".

You should now see an advanced dialog with more detailed information about your outgoing e-mail settings.

Please note that the Mac version of Eudora cannot be set to securely transmit your password or outgoing messages unless you are using Classic or OS 10.2 and higher. This guide refers to OS X only.
There are a few easy steps to setting up Eudora to send outgoing e-mail through Illinois Wesleyan's servers:
From the Eudora menu, select "Preferences". The left pane of this window is a list of control panels used to configure Eudora. There are two separate control panels in this list that will need configuration: "Sending Mail" and "SSL".

There are a few easy steps to configuring Apple's OS X Mail application to send outgoing e-mail through Illinois Wesleyan's servers:
From the Mail menu, select "Preferences". The top section of this window is a list of control panels used to configure Apple Mail. Click on "Accounts" which should be the first item in this section. A list of all your email accounts should appear in the left pane of this window. From this point, follow these three steps:
