Anna's Scrapbook — Page 1

Amanda, roommate and the photographer, doesn’t like to zoom in, so you can’t see this very well. Basically, it’s me standing by a boat named "Anna." This is not too far from our flat.

I’m off in the distance — Amanda still won’t zoom in.

I’m cooking! A guy from North Carolina—who we affectionately call "Country Bumpkin"—bought a box of pancake mix for 49 cents. The pancakes were . . . interesting.

Robby! We’re standing on our kitchen balcony with Robby, the guy who lived downstairs from us. Robby just moved out, and after two weeks of spending three hours every evening drinking tea and enjoying each other’s conversation, it’s very sad that he’s gone. He’s off traveling the Mediterranean, and all we have left of him is an email address and the guitar he’s storing in our closet. I hope the Israeli guy who’s moving in next week is at least half as awesome as Robby!

This is our buddy Chris. He’s from Brooklyn and he’s teaching me how to dance—which is pretty hilarious. He calls me "K-Mack" because I’m from "K"enosha.

Central Station, gateway to all of Europe! It’s really busy around here. The roads are hard to cross. Look at the street markings . . . craziness. The trams are really scary. The Dutch can tell we’re Americans because we’re afraid of the trams.
